I made a homemade super nifty Apollo astronaut suit for halloween!  More details and pics on the way, but here are a few shots of yours truly in action:

Audacity theme

Audacity is a great, simple, open-source audio editing software utility.  The interface needs a little work, though–everything is functional, it just looks a little stale.

Audacity’s 1.3.3 beta release included preliminary support for skinning, which allowed users to modify the interface graphics.  I created a partial theme with a significant icon update and submitted it to the Audacity development forums.

The theme uses modified parts of the free png icon set Silk at famfamfam.

Jackie Munro Online Portfolio

I completed the portfolio site for Jackie Munro, a photography student at NYU.  She wanted a minimalist, static site with very specific typeface and color requirements, an image viewer, and embedded quicktime video.

Dawson’s Chess

I designed a new, dark visual interface for the ultra-simple Dawson’s Chess game. See if you can beat the computer–it’s harder than it looks.

The code for the game is taken from Thomas Feguson, a professor of mathematics at UCLA. You can view the original version at his website here.

Radio Player for Yahoo! Widgets

I designed an audio streaming widget for the Yahoo! Widget Engine for our student radio station. So far, we’ve have more than 2,000 downloads. View or download here.

The player is based off of an earlier version of the 5FM Streamer Widget. Some of the other radio widgets were visually way too busy; I wanted to make the player as simple as possible. The widget has a link to the station’s website and a play button over a glossy blue base.

Radio Embeddable Player Interface

I made some graphics for an embeddable flash player for The LION 90.7fm.  See them action (or embed them!) on the LION’s website here.

The LION 90.7fm website

I’ve been appointed as the lead for my student radio station’s new website project. The plan is a complete overhaul from Wordpress to Drupal, integrating intra-station communication, playlist posting, public private events managing, separate blogs for every radio program, and some nifty new embeddable flash players.

The LION 90.7fm

The old website was a multi-user Wordpress installation.  The station was in need of a more sophisticated and standardized, site-wide look and feel.  The new graphics scheme, based off of Drupal’s Garland theme, incorporates a consistent dark blue and white gradient throughout site pages, embeddable flash players.

Drupal was chosen as the base CMS because of it’s easily extensible module-based structure–there were a number of customized modules available.  The site utilizes the Station module
